The 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program recognized MacArthur High School seniors Grace Shin (center) and Eduardo Sandoval (right) as commended students.
Each of these scholastically accomplished students were presented with a Letter of Commendation by Principal Kathleen Valentino (left) on behalf of the school and the NMSP, which conducts the program.
Shin is an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction and the school representative to the Board of Education. She is president of the National Honor Society and the Math Honor Society and a member of the Foreign Language Honor Society. In her free time, Shin volunteers at a Korean school.
Like Shin, Sandoval is an Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor and a member of the National Honor Society and math and foreign language honor societies. He is a National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar. When not attending school, Sandoval is working on becoming an Eagle Scout. (Photo provided by Levittown School District)
