The Summit Lane School PTA meeting will be held on Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. at 239 Gardiners Ave. in Levittown.
H&R Block prepares consumers for the tax mpact of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in a nationwide event. On Thursday, Jan. 8, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., H&R Block in Levittown Mews Shopping Center at 3357 Hempstead Tpke. will participate in a national event to help consumers understand how the more than 46 changes to this year’s tax code as a result of the ACA may impact their taxes.
This nationwide effort will give consumers access to H&R Block’s ACA Specialists who can help consumers understand how the ACA may affect their tax return—and their refund—this year. Each client will receive a free ACA Tax Impact Analysis, a personalized review of how consumers’ taxes will be affected by the ACA. This analysis will deliver tax support that is tailored to each consumer’s health insurance situation.
There is no appointment necessary to participate in ACA Q&A Day. Participants will receive a personalized ACA Tax Impact Analysis at no charge.

Hempstead Town Board will meet on Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. at Nathan L.H. Bennett Pavilion, 1 Washington St., Hempstead.
Levittown Property Owner’s Association will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Levittown Public Library in community rooms A & B.

Levittown School District Board of Education’s regular meeting will be held on Jan. 14 at 8 p.m. at Levittown Memorial Education Center, 150 Abbey Ln.
Upcoming Events
The First Presbyterian Church of Levittown, 474 Wantagh Ave. will host an interfaith worship service on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 4 p.m. in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. All are welcome to attend. Fellowship hour to follow service.
Levittown Community Council (LCC) will hold its general meeting on Friday, Jan. 23. The topic will be first aid, with the Wantagh Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Corp (WLVAC).
The Hempstead Town Board will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Nathan L.H. Bennett Pavilion, 1 Washington St., Hempstead.
Island Trees Schools Board of Education will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room at Stephen E. Karopczyc School, 74 Farmedge Rd. in Levittown.

• Employment Referrals for Seniors. The Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs is a resource to employers seeking qualified workers and to mature job seekers, 55+, who want assistance with employment and résumé preparation. Services are free of charge.
• The Foster Grandparents Program is recruiting senior volunteers to share their time and love with children in Nassau County. Volunteers receive a non-reportable stipend, transportation reimbursement, paid holidays, sick days and vacation days.
• If you are 55+, make your spare time count. Join the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, a national organization, and share your talents and skills at one of the many diversified placements.
