Each year students in the local area compete in a contest sponsored by Senator Kemp Hannon entitled, “ThLawFinalist_051816Aere Ought To Be A Law.” Students in the sixth-grade work with their social studies teachers to brainstorm issues that could be resolved by creating laws. The entries are submitted and winners of the contest are honored in the spring.

This year Justin Mott, a sixth-grader in Mrs. O’Neill’s class, has been named a finalist in the competition. Mott brainstormed a law to lessen the penalty of traffic violations for those with safe driving records.  He will be honored at Levittown Hall on May 26, at 6 p.m. and will be awarded a citation from Hannon’s office. At the end of the ceremony, the grand prize winner will be announced.
