Peter Thomas Larmour

OBITLarmour 090518A 704x1024 1Peter Thomas Larmour passed away in his home in Claverack at age 73. Born in Bellerose in 1944, he attended St. Gregory the Great until he moved to Manhasset at age 13. He graduated from Saint Mary’s High School and attended Holy Cross College and University of Hawaii where he served the Navy. He taught science at Schreiber for a number of years, after which he became an enthusiastic volunteer at the Claverack Public Library—recently dying his hair purple for their fund raiser. He also attended science conventions where he distributed samples of sand from around the world to science teachers. He was a good friend to his friends, a good parishioner to his church and a good son—caring for his mother in her later years. Peter never cheated, judged or harmed anyone. He is survived by his two brothers, Dennis and John, and his sister Patty Poche. He will be missed. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 7. There will be a service to follow presided by Monsignor Donald Beckman, at Fairchild Funeral Home; 1570 Northern Blvd., Manhasset.
