Locust Valley elementary schools celebrated the beginning of the school year with Hello Week from Sept. 23-27. The week had themed dress days every day to encouraged K-5 students to learn more about each others’ interests.
On Monday, each student wore a name tag and were encouraged to say “hello” to as many classmates as possible. On Tuesday, students wore rainbow tie-dye. On Wednesday, students dressed mismatched for “Mix it Up” day. Thursday was jersey day to showcase students’ favorite sports teams, and on “Falcon Friday,” students wore green to show their Locust Valley pride.
The week encouraged students to make new friends and say hello to new students.
