The Plainview-Old Bethpage Memorial Day parade remembered those who gave all on Memorial Day.

Community members marched down Old Country Road, and there was a ceremony at the community park on Washington Ave., where residents, young and old, gathered to honor the lives lost in pursuit of freedom.

In addition, Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino issued a proclamation declaring May 26 to be Joe Varrone Day in the town. Varrone was a longtime Plainview resident, former parade committee member and Vietnam War veteran.
